SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (March 21, 2018) — The Saratoga Automobile Museum (“SAM”) is proud to be part of the 2018 New York International Auto Show (“NYIAS”), which takes place from Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 8 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

SAM will display an array of classic and exotic vehicles, in addition to promotional information regarding the Museum’s events, including the second annual Saratoga Auto Auction taking place in September at SPAC. SAM’s exhibition space will be in the South Concourse of the Javits Center.

“The New York International Auto Show is the grandest stage in the automotive industry and there’s no better opportunity for the Saratoga Automobile Museum to showcase our efforts and events to the greater public,” said Carly Connors, executive director, Saratoga Automobile Museum.

The centerpiece of the exhibit will be the 1994 Newman/Haas Lola T9400 Indy Car, originally piloted by American racing legend Mario Andretti in his final year of competition. The car marked the culmination of Andretti’s 12 seasons with the Newman/Haas Team and was given to him by Paul Newman and Carl Haas as a retirement gift.

In addition to the T9400, the SAM exhibit will include a 1929 Packard Model 626, a 1967 Bizzarrini P538, 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV, a 1931 Duesenberg J convertible, a 1931 Duesenberg J Derham Tourster, a 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Stelvio cabriolet, a 1966 Morgan four-seat roadster, and a 2016 VLF Destino.

Another component of SAM’s exhibit at NYIAS is the museum’s distracted driving safety simulator program. These driving simulators educate users on the dangers of distracted driving. SAM features a simulation of an arrest if the user breaks the law. This feature educates new drivers on the real life consequences of not paying attention to the road, even for a split second.
