Slidin’ Dirty, Schenectady County to host Bloktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 21

Event will celebrate Slidin’ Dirty’s five year anniversary; presented by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC)

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2017) — — Slidin’ Dirty (SD), an award-winning and nationally recognized restaurant and food truck operating throughout the Capital Region, and Schenectady County will host Bloktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Downtown Schenectady.

The event, which will also celebrate SD’s five year anniversary operating in the Capital Region, will be presented with support from the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation. Festivities will take place on Lafayette Street near State Street.

“We’re excited to host our five year anniversary in the Electric City this year,” said Tim Taney, co-founder and managing member of Slidin’ Dirty. “Thanks to the incredible support by Schenectady County and DSIC, we’re able to celebrate our five year anniversary party even dirtier.”

“We love that Slidin’ Dirty is becoming such an active participant in the downtown Schenectady community,” said Jim Salengo, executive director, Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation. He added, “This event gives visitors a new opportunity to experience the awesome dining and social scene that is redefining our downtown.”

“Congratulations to Tim and his team at Slidin Dirty on fiveyears in business,” said Legislator Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Committee on Tourism, Arts and Special Events for the Schenectady County Legislature. “We are so excited that they chose to expand into Downtown Schenectady and have immediately immersed themselves into our community. We cannot wait to celebrate with them on Saturday and look forward to many more years of the best sliders in the Capital Region.”

Performers scheduled to appear — starting at 12:45 p.m. — include Talia Denis, Bendt (2017 Schenectady County Battle of the Bands winner), and MIRK.

Craft beer specials include beer and cider from Jack’s Abby, Rare Form, Chatham Brewing, and Nine Pin Cider. Enjoy Stein hoisting, Stein pong, and Cornhole games, while trying out Bratwurst sliders to be served curbside. The VIP area is sponsored by Shmaltz Brewing and the after party will be hosted by Mad Jack Brewing at The Van Dyck.
