Normal investment models position investors and developers on opposite sides of the table with little or no collaboration between parties.

Yet with Relex’s forthcoming new collaborative proxy-developer-to-developer platform, the two parties will be able to seamlessly discuss the forthcoming projects, pitch ideas, and co-create future developments. The platform is the first of its kind to put developers in direct contact with proxy developers, benefitting from the collective, global expertise of both parties.

Relex’s model is innovative in real estate development. Derived from Peter Woodfine’s concept model, proxy developers work directly with developers to collaborate on projects. They can share schematics, mockups, and other design ideas through the platform, talking about the project every step of the way.

Instead of being a remote financier, the proxy developer is part of the project. He provides added value not only in his financial backing but also in the ideas helping to shape the project.

In other traditional financing situations, high capital funding groups can take control of projects, pushing it towards profit without any consideration for the neighborhoods in which the buildings are erected. With proxy developers from all over the world, however, these ideas enhance the original design.

Even those who think they may have little to offer could find that their everyday experiences in the world have primed them to give valuable input regarding projects.

One such pilot project on the forthcoming proxy developer platform (a completely separate platform than the funding platform), is the university in Myanmar.

Without a single private university in the country, this real estate development opportunity is uniquely poised to benefit from the input of a worldwide proxy developer group.

And with additional projects joining the proxy developer platform from FLC Group and others, proxy developers have a special, first hand opportunity to talk to developers about projects and learn about the intricacies of the developments they’re investing in.

It’s just another way that Relex is making real estate development more transparent, making the process more comfortable for foreign direct investment.

The proxy development platform is set to launch this October following the release of the investment platform co-created with Katipult.
