As an active member on Twitter, I must say that I see at least one post a day on my timeline, which makes reference to Jay-Z and Beyonce.

More particularly, these tweets refer to the Jay-Z and Beyonce as the ultimate King and Queen of America, King and Queen of music, power couple, God and Goddess, and much more.

The couple has formed a very strong identity over the past few years. Could it be that they are each very successful within their own fields of music and song writing? Or is it that their love is seen as extremely pure and real?

Whatever the reasoning behind this may be, Jay-Z and Beyonce are viewed as a couple that many young couples look up to in terms of their relationship goals.

Many argue, including myself, that Beyonce earned her success fairly through her own hard work and dedication. As a true supporter of Beyonce, I believe her music offers something that is essentially incomparable to what other artists put on the plate. She is different, she is unique, she is talented… but is she my God?

On the same note, I am just as big of a fan of Jay-Z than I am of Beyonce and her music. Many also argue that he is the ultimate king of rap and hip-hop. Since 1993, Jay-Z has held a very sacred nickname. Many refer to him as HOV or HOVA. You may ask, what is the sacred meaning behind this name? HOVA, short for Jehova, is one of the Old Testament names of God. Therefore, Jay-Z is referring to himself as the “God” (Jay-Hova) of rap and hip-hop music.

Therefore, if you didn’t already know, it is now clear as to why the couple are considered “King and Queen”, since they are each sacred in terms of their own work.

Above is a clip of Jay-Z and Beyonce performing Forever Young and Halo during their personal shared tour known as “On The Run Tour”. Throughout this touching performance, the couple reminisce through moments that they have shared together in the past.

American actress, Jennifer Lawrence, tells Vanity Fair that “she began shaking uncontrollably when she first met Jay Z, though she says it’s understandable since ‘Jay Z and Beyonce are king and queen of America’” (V101, 2014).

In regards to the MTV 2014 Video Music Awards, Mike Wass reports, “Slow clap for Beyonce. The unstoppable diva literally ran down the red carpet when the show was already starting but still managed to steal everyone’s shine” (Wass, 2014). He also refers to her as Queen Bey.

I can definitely relate to Jennifer Lawrence as I personally felt a little “uncontrollable” when first seeing Jay-Z live in concert. In addition, if Beyonce walked passed a few other celebrities and artists whom I’m a fan of, Beyonce would receive my full attention as well! However, does this mean that I consider the couple sacred? I definitely would not consider either of them a God or Goddess in a religious sense, but I do believe they are holy in the world of music.
