Prague 1: Truly the heart of Prague.
- Pros: centrally located, great restaurants, pubs, theaters, museums, galleries, shops.
- Cons: never-ending crowd of tourists, pricy rents, unsuitable for families.
Prague 2: Vinohrady.The suburb of Vinohrady is a favorite among expats.
- Pros: still a city center, easy access to public transport, international pre-schools. Great parks and green areas also makes Vinohrady an attractive option for those with young children.
- Cons: this area is getting very expensive.
Prague 3: Žižkov. You either love it or hate it.
- Pros: cheaper apartments, nice parks and greenery.
- Cons: rather hilly district. More working-class residential
Prague 4: Nusle, Braník and Podolí neighborhoods.
- Pros: This is Prague´s most residential, and, some say, safest district. Smart move, as EPAM is located in Prague 4.Two of the city´s largest international schools are located in Prague 4 as well.
Prague 5: Smíchov, south of Malá Strana, Košíře, Motol, Hlubočepy, and Radlice.
- Pros: cozy.
- Cons: far from the center.
Prague 6: Dejvice, Nebušice.
- Pros: Rents are typically cheaper. Prague 6 is an ideal place for families with many schools and parks nearby. Ořechovka and Hanspaulka are two of the nicest residential areas in the city, characterized by luxurious houses and villas. Usually chosen by diplomats.
- Cons: Public transport stops can be few and far between.
Prague 7: Holešovice
- Pros: is situated quite near the city center. Nice Stromovka park.
- Cons: not all residences are eye pleasing.
Prague 8 Karlín.
- Pros: massive River City development, office-building and luxury apartment complex. Nice for yuppie types.
- Cons: hugely hit by water flood 2002.
Prague 9 Kobylisy, Prosek, Ládví, and Letňany
- Pros: lot’s of newly-built apartments.
- Cons: are a good distance from the center.
Prague 10: Vršovice, Hostivař
- Pros: has a Vinohrady feel but is a bit further from the center.
- Cons: as the neighborhood becomes increasingly popular, prices have begun to rise.
