The weight of memory

Felix Hanover parked his battered delivery van in the alley and stepped out to slide open the side door. His seaman’s trunk was getting too heavy for him after so many years, but one never knew what a customer might want to trade for — a watch that told time by the mouse’s hands, a silver dollar, a cell phone case — and even if nothing in the box was quite what the customer desired, the samples promised greater selections to be had at his shop.
