Why Remix, and why now?
AI may be the largest technological advancement in our lifetime, as important as the internet or mobile. It is a transformational shift and one that we believe will radically change our culture in the coming years.
As with prior technology shifts, we believe AI will create new media experiences, requiring a new platform to share and discover them.
We view this as the dawn of a new type of media — not exactly youtube shorts, not exactly tiktok, not exactly what music videos were when MTV launched — but sort of like all of those in that new technology is enabling new creative outlets. But now all of us can be creators.
How do I remix?
Simple, get started by trying a post in Remix. There are a couple of easy ways.
If you have a great idea already, just tap the ‘plus button’ at the bottom of the feed page. Select ‘From prompt’ and enter your desired prompt (a prompt is the language that AI uses to create your image). Example: “Alpacas dancing in the rain”. Generate as many artwork versions as you’d like.

If you need some inspiration, or simply see a great image/prompt that someone else created, just tap the purple Remix button on a post you like. It will start a new post based on the Original, — try changing the subject or the style for example, and see what happens! It’s fun to extend the story, add a twist, or remix culture.
An indicator at the bottom of the post shows how many times it was remixed. If you tap on it, it will take you to a page to see all of the remixes together in a Remix thread, including the Original post that kicked it all off.
We have added the soundtrack to AI. We don’t think images and videos should be silent, so we support adding music and audio to the posts. Simply drop a link to Youtube or Spotify.
We believe that Remix will be more fun if we support Midjourney and video creations. You can connect Remix to your Midjourney account via your Discord credentials. To add video, simply use “From photos” or “From files” on our menu. Advanced tip: you can also add Midjourney and videos to Remix threads.
Finally, make sure you personalize your post with a caption including hashtags. Sometimes that makes a good post into an epic one. Enjoy your amazing creations. And make sure to check out other users’ prompts to learn how they made cool ones.
Special note to AI artists
We recognize that you are the vanguard of this new type of media and art. You likely have spent significant time with your craft, including amazing prompt engineering for your artwork. In addition, you may have a visual brand for your art that makes it hard to jump into a remix thread about Darth Vadar!
Some tips that other artists have done to address this: a) you don’t have to share your prompt — just upload your image or video using From photos or From files, and leave the prompt section blank, b) you can create an Alt account if you want to jump in on the fun of threads but don’t want to mix that creativity with your aesthetic, and c) you can do what @peternitsch did — he has created an entire account just with hamburgers.
