It had been years since the region’s hurricane evacuation system was last updated. That’s why we caught up with Steve Feigenbaum, Director of Service Development at Hillsboro Area Regional Transit in Tampa, FL, to hear how Remix enabled his agency to update the region’s hurricane evacuation plan for the first time in years.

“I think part of the reason we hadn’t done it for a long time is because it was such a nuisance to draw the routes and get all the other information in,” Feigenbaum said.

“To draw a route in a more conventional GIS environment takes maybe about an hour. In Remix, you can draw a route in less than a minute.”
