Remix now shows population and jobs data.
This bivariate choropleth map uses 2013 American Community Survey data for population data, and 2012 Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics for job data. Soon, we’ll upgrade it with the recently released 2013 LEHD data.
When you drag and drop a route through Remix, you’ll be able to see, in real time, the population density and the number of jobs within a certain radius of the stops on your route.
One of our pilot customers, the Capital District Transportation Authority, is located in Albany. Take a look at what happens when you draw a sample route there:
You can also toggle the radius from .25 to .50 to .75 miles.
We added a layer combining population and jobs because it’s important to look at both metrics at once. If you toggle back and forth between the two to assess both, you might miss areas with an even mix. But if you’d like to see just population or just jobs, just click those layers:
Enjoy and give it a try today! Are you doing anything exciting with our new pop & jobs layer? Let us know.
