Joshua Schank from LA Metro discusses breaking down barriers and getting stuff done.

Despite its reputation as the car capital of the world, Los Angeles has made giant strides in recent years toward effecting material and lasting changes to the city’s transit network. Part of the engine driving this change is the Office of Extraordinary Innovation at LA Metro, an internal think-tank in charge of devising creative strategies to break down barriers and get stuff done.

At this year’s Remix Conference, Joshua Schank from the Office of Extraordinary Innovation discussed how the department has built private-sector partnerships, conducted strategic planning, and even acted as an internal consultant for the city’s highly anticipated cross-town rail extension.
