In our quest to build the leading Access Management solution, we’re always on the lookout for new talent who can make REMME even better. Thanks to the latest additions to the fold, we’re well on our way to assembling a crack team of experts versed in all aspects of cyber security and blockchain technology. This month, we’re pleased to announce the arrival of the following team member and special advisors.

Team

Oleksii Baranovskyi, PhD (Chief Cybersecurity Scientist)

Oleksii Baranovskyi is one of Ukraine’s premier experts on cybersecurity with more than 15 years hands-on experience. He received his PhD in information technologies from National Technical University of Ukraine working on information flaws analysis. He has also been certified in various international professional certifications: CEH, CHFI, CSX Fundamentals, ECIH etc. His areas of interest are secure software development and penetration testing, as well as incident handling and forensic investigation.

Dr. Baranonskyi was involved in the creation of the Cyber Police Department and awarded for his valuable contribution by the Chief of Ukrainian National Police. In 2017, he presented at MIT and Dartmouth College with his colleagues comprehensive research on cyber-attacks against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

He currently works also as Lector and Head of Education and Training Center at National Technical University of Ukraine and Dean of Kyiv Cyber Academy. Oleksii has published a number of scientific articles and cases on IT and cyber issues. He is Deputy Head of Crisis Cyber Center in Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Academic Director of ISACA Kyiv Chapter.

For his leadership achievements, Oleksii was chosen to take part in the “Responsible Leadership” seminar by Aspen Institute at October 2017.

Advisors

Prof. Roman Oliynykov (Cryptography Advisor)

Roman Oliynykov is a Ukrainian cryptographer, IT security researcher and lecturer (professor). He is currently a team Veritas manager at IOHK. Roman graduated from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics in Ukraine with expertise in Computer Engineering and Security, and after further research activity gained his PhD and Dr Habil degrees in symmetric crypto.

His professional experience includes development of Ukrainian cryptographic standards: the Kalyna block cipher (DSTU 7624:2014) and the Kupyna hash function (DSTU 7564:2014). As a professor, he gives lectures on software and network security, general crypto and cryptocurrencies in Ukraine, South Korea and Norway. He is also involved in training of Ukrainian cyberpolice officers.

His current projects focus on flexibility and security improvements of blockchain-based technologies.

Stepan Gershuni (Technical Advisor)

Stepan is general partner at a crypto-currencies-focused fund, Block Bits Capital. He worked as a product manager at Bitfury, a company involved in development of software and hardware for the blockchain ecosystem. Stepan was previously co-founder of BlockNotary, Growth Hacker at News360, global marketing intern at AngelHack, and manager of Mobile Products at Noviy Disk.

He is involved in trading cryptocurrencies and encouragement of investments in the field. Stepan is a highly regarded expert in the cryptocurrency markets.
