Can ReMoneta become the new paradigm of Global Commerce?
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, it was noted that the latest global economic crisis, in particular, caused a sharp decline in public confidence in financial institutions. So the biggest challenge today is to “create a viable, accessible financial system that people trust” — one that is able to withstand all future shocks in the financial market. Unfortunately, the modern global system is not easily capable of change. It will continue to be based on one or another of the static structures present today.
This is where a new currency like ReMoneta can come in, because it is able to create a new market. The supporters of a technical free market have been toying with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Indeed, there is a small existing ecosystem for “relocating”money in the event of a banking crash. Of course, big banks and governments are worried about losing their iron control over money and reserves. Authoritarian regimes rushed to limit cybercurrencies, thus prohibiting trade with the main systems. Some large companies with concern over lack of regulations including Facebook and Google banned advertisements. The press has triggered avalanche of uncertainties, suspicions and fearsome articles. To date, a truce has taken place, as governments and banks have calmed down due to the steady decline in Bitcoin. This year alone, Bitcoin has fallen by more than 50 percent, which is due, in addition to the regulations, to hacker attacks in the direction of the cryptosphere.
Yet, the cryptographic economy is constantly evolving — in an evolutionary way — and there is no doubt that sooner or later the current economic model will change. Values, goods and services will be further exchanged based on new technology platforms. Thus, the role of intermediaries decreases, as services are shared between a more distributed and self-managing audience.
All this, however, does not happen overnight, because cryptocurrencies have had their own problems. Thousands of currencies have been created. Many are limited in number creating artificially scarcity, thus pumping the price but at the same time creating an unworkable economic model. They are difficult to access. Moreover, there is no real fundamental or measurable value in cryptocurrencies and also you may argue in the so-called fiat-money. Their price is fluctuating and volatile. Over time it decreases. Most cryptocurrencies lack stability because they do not have a real guarantee, and their practical use is complicated by security issues and global change. Still many are related to some country or company problems, management change and geopolitics. In sum, they can not improve the global system or add stability as there are no positive common values. Therefore, it is also generally not possible to create a credible business or platform, since almost none of the tokens used can be called currency. Unfortunately many of the new projects are designed to cheat people out of money.
The real power of the online currency is the ability to print and distribute money using new rules. Smart money can be created. To this day, the power to create money has always been the divine right of the kings and the governments of nation-states. Now it is likely that there will be a time when people can decide on their own. The only question is, we have not yet created the kind of currency that we really need.
