There’s no fixed term for future of living, actually it would be combine with minimalist lifestyle and balancing work-play concept. In the end people would happy if they could accomplished something in one day, also enjoying other things at the same time.

Today, I’m honored to talk with David Lowe about the future of living concept. Which is accelerated with his new startup, Qwerky Coliving.

Hi David, How are you? I’m curious what exactly Qwerky coliving? and how you get the idea?

Hi Lee, very straight forward question :-D. It happened back in 2010 when I travel to London. Whether I stayed in hostel, hotel or airbnb, there’s nothing such relationship between the guest and living neighbourhood. People come for travelling but don’t have such a connection with local people. Kinda individualistic term actually.

I’m started to realize how important building a place that engage traveller, digital nomad and entrepreneur with local community. Like sharing and interaction between guest, having meet up and workshop together.

The word qwerky itself means unique and like-minded. People inside Qwerky bubble sharing their ideas, gig and positive ambiance to each other.

What’s the usp of and specialty of Qwerky?

If right now, coworking or coliving still using “the future of work” term, we’re at qwerky preferred “the future of living”. Let say, someone from Qwerky community needs coding to complete their mvp. Then Qwerky community reach out one of member that have ability to do that whether remote or onsite our coliving. Similar with gig economy.

We will be launched on early 2018, whether January or February at San Diego and other places. We offer an experience of America’s Finest City together and connect with San Diego startup community.

Are you bootstrapping? What do you think of Qwerky join accelerator?

Yes, We’re bootstrapped. We believe we want have a freedom to scale the community. We avoided to accept investor in early stage because we don’t want those investor will influencing the direction of qwerky. Although we have a few investor offering us investment.

Since still in early phase, what’s your strategy to promote Qwerky?

We really avoided using facebook ads or other paid ads. We’re prefer to grow organically. We’re still in the middle of manage our building and founding community. So, we still stick with word of mouth and few publication. Like podcast and blog post.

Could you tell us more about your future plan on Qwerky?

Stick around and wait for our launch :-D. Be ready and expect new experience of coliving that never existed before.

You can find more about Dave on qwerky.co, facebook, twitter and instagram. Good luck with Qwerky launch! We’ll waiting to get to know the community more further.

Stay tune for the next article ;)
