Gamaya appoints Lucas Trindade as the new leader of operations in Brazil

Swiss AgTech company GAMAYA, specializing in remote sensing solutions for agriculture, has a new leader for its operations in Brazil. With extensive experience in digital and precision agriculture, agronomist Lucas Trindade assumes, as of February, the new position of Head of GAMAYA Brasil, created to further increase activities in the country considered the main market for company solutions.

“GAMAYA focuses on Brazil and develops its products for the mills, in the sugarcane market, and partners in other crops,” says Trindade. “With this focus, the company was able to create an exciting portfolio and will certainly continue to bring many differentiatation in its products”.

Graduated in 2004 from the Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture (Esalq), with an MBA in Business Management and Administration from FGV, Trindade stood out in the last decade as an executive responsible for the implementation of business in the area of ​​digital agriculture in Brazil. As Business Manager for Precision Agriculture in Latin America for Leica Geosystems — specialized in precision measurement systems — he created the basis for creating what would later be Hexagon Agriculture, one of the leaders in the precision agriculture market in the country.

In the last four years, Lucas was responsible for the launch and served as general manager for Brazil of Farmers Edge, a Canadian remote sensing company that was one of the pioneers in the digital agriculture market.

“The digital agriculture market is undergoing a big revolution,” says Trindade. “In the sugarcane area, which is GAMAYA’s main focus at the moment, automatic solutions bring much more agility to the mills, with a much broader sense of what is really happening in the cane fields”.

According to the executive, one of his main focuses ahead of GAMAYA will be to increase the understanding and awareness of producers about the benefits of using solutions such as CaneFit, a digital service package offered by GAMAYA that allows the monitoring of farmland during all stages of the crop production, from planting to harvesting.

“Also, I intend to add my experience in digital agriculture with the proven expertise of GAMAYA, to meet even more the needs of the market, interpreting the way digital navigates between different areas of agronomy. I will support the development of digital agronomy solutions for producers, not only in sugarcane but also for other crops”.

As the head of the GAMAYA Brasil team, Lucas Trindade will have the strategic support of Silvio Santos, senior advisor of the company, who led the company transition and commercial launch of the first products of the CaneFit product portfolio in Brazil.
