Who wants to be a millionaire? Apparently everyone, since even a TV show was created around that theme. And although using your general knowledge to answer questions and earn money sounds appealing, most of us have to do it the old-fashioned way, by working and, hopefully, being successful at it.

But success means focusing your existence around a certain aim or desire, so that you may eventually accomplish it. In order to reach that result, there are things you will need to remove from your life, so as to receive prosperity with open arms.

NEGATIVITY

1. “Stay away from negative people; they have a problem for every solution” — Albert Einstein

Eliminate the toxic people in your life; life is too short to get caught up in their pointless drama. Whereas you may see an opportunity in every difficulty, they will make it their mission to find a difficulty in every opportunity, and it’s just not the type of attitude you want to be around. Focus on what is truly important and don’t let negativity distract you from your goals.

2. “Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to other people.” — Meir Ezra

Comparing yourself to others is a vicious circle. There will always be someone out there who will seem smarter, wealthier, more successful and overall better than you. This kind of thinking is distracting, which will even cause the loss of your current advantages. However, you must understand that every person has their own journey in life, and the only one you should strive to be better than is who you were yesterday.

3. “Champions never complain. They are too busy getting better.” — John Wooden

Keep a positive attitude, look at the bright side of things and don’t allow the negative to take on enormous proportions. Some people enjoy complaining almost as much as they enjoy not doing anything about it. Don’t be that person! If you notice something is going wrong, stop whining and start repairing.

4. “He that is good at making excuses is seldom good for anything else.” — Benjamin Franklin

When something isn’t working, find a solution, not an excuse or even a reason, since reasons are often excuses in disguise. People who are victims of their fate, of unforeseeable and uncontrollable circumstances, never succeed. If you want to attain prosperity, have fun accomplishing what others are too afraid to do.

5. “Perfectionism is just an excuse for self-criticism.” — Sharon Martin

Instead of being a perfectionist, try to be a realist — there are certain things you can do, and some that you cannot. Learn to work around obstacles and ask for help. Be efficient and effective by avoiding procrastination over small details that won’t matter in the long run. Keep your eyes on the prize and don’t settle for the bare minimum, but don’t set an excessive goal either. Balance is the key to everything.

TIME AND WORK MANAGEMENT

1. Stop multitasking, delegate and focus on important tasks

Multi-taskers usually have problems filtering information, organizing their thoughts and passing from one project to another. If you want to be more productive, you must learn that you don’t have to carry all the weight on your back — delegate less important tasks, create an efficient working environment by eliminating all distractions and focus on the important matters that truly require your attention.

2. Stay away from social media when working

Social media platforms are designed as an intricate maze of links that lead from one article or video to the next, with such an elaborate strategy that, two hours after reading a piece of news regarding your business domain, you end up watching videos of cats trying to flush the toilet or playing a game. It is time-consuming and prevents success, therefore try to leave Facebook, Instagram and Twitter aside and focus on something meaningful, which will bring added value to your job or your life.

3. Forget about meetings

Meetings are usually unproductive, inefficient and a waste of time. If you are working, you don’t have time to drop everything and attend a meeting, and if you are in a meeting, you most probably aren’t working anymore. If there is clear value to be gained from coming together and exchanging ideas, organize the meeting, but if not, focus on work that will help you achieve your full potential and become successful.

4. Create to-do lists

At the end of each day, take some time to reflect on what you have achieved and what you would like to accomplish the following day. Arrange these things into your calendar, with dates and times, so that you will enhance your efficiency. Timetables help you keep organized and proactive. If the saying “I’ve made a huge to-do list for today, I’m just not sure who’s going to do it” sounds characteristic to you, learn that it’s all in your power — don’t leave your fate and your success in the hands of others, but rather visualize it and work toward attaining it, and success will surely come.

A state of mind

Success is a mindset, you have the power to make it happen and you will see that once your perspective changes, outside circumstances will too. In order to be successful, you must make a plan, commit to it and concentrate your life around that burning goal or desire. Live and abide by the rules you impose on yourself in order to reach your objectives, work hard and never quit.

At TRISOFT, we encourage you to never settle for anything less than what you desire. Make efforts to reach your goals, do the best you can, eliminate any negativity in your life so that you can concentrate on the glass being half full. Believe in yourself and success will follow.
