Slowly but surely, the labor market is getting back to its former self. 2021 showed us a glimpse of what we might expect this year: people started working on-site again, business trips regained more ground, health risks were diminished and companies began their return to normality.

But whereas last year was the year of gradual and unhurried recovery, 2022 could be the year of growth. The pandemic has made organizations all over the globe understand the importance of digitalization and using modern technologies in order to get the work done faster and more efficiently.

As a result, everyone is ready to enter the new year on a high note and turn their tasks and accomplishments into great successes.

That being said, here are a few workplace trends to look out for in 2022.

1. Turning it hybrid

First of all, the development of a hybrid workplace will solve a lot of problems and frustrations for workers and managers alike, while also being advantageous from a financial and practical standpoint.

Businesses have reported an increase in their workers’ productivity while working from home and it has allowed professionals to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Remote work and the use of collaborative platforms such as Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams and others allowed companies to operate virtually, while employees worked from the comfort and safety of their homes.

However, as firms moved back to on-premise operations, there were certain people who weren’t willing to return to the conventional work mode. This has given rise to a hybrid workplace — in which a team includes some members working from home and others working on-site. This is a flexible approach that allows employees to come into the office or work from a place of their choosing, as their specific situation might require or impose.

Keep an eye on this new trend which is likely to become more widespread in 2022.

2. Welcome the Z Generation

Secondly, the Gen-Z generation is ready to enter the corporate world. This younger group has a unique approach and fresh perspective towards work. Its members tend to avoid wasting precious resources and time by doing things the traditional way, therefore they will use the advancements of technology, which they were born into, to get tasks done easier and quicker. As a result, they will not only expect, but demand digital upgrades to work methods and spaces, thus leading to a new revolution on the labor market.

Furthermore, given these new circumstances, both Gen-Z and other generations have begun looking at the rigid work schedule with skepticism and displeasure. They have tasted a mixture of work and family life, which generally brought them fulfillment and joy, thus they will have a transformed view and modern expectations in the future.

Now that the danger of the pandemic has subsided and the conventional approach to work is making a comeback, employees will seek an ideal work-life balance without sacrificing any of the two aspects of their lives.

3. Focus on the importance of mental health

Nevertheless, although family interactions and the comfort of home brought benefits and satisfaction, there were events and circumstances that caused damage and trouble: the general state of uncertainty, the fact that certain employees lost their jobs, businesses failed and were forced to shut their doors, other people worked overtime and became exhausted or burned out while trying to adapt to the ever-changing conditions and rules.

All these have significantly affected the mental well-being of workers and business owners. Thus, as the personnel are getting back into the workspace, they will have to receive personalized support and encouragement, through a stimulating and stable work environment.

Focusing on the importance of mental health will go a long way toward gaining and retaining good and happy employees.

4. Offer a great overall employee experience

Better employee experience motivates people to give 100% and work passionately towards reaching common organizational goals. In 2022, competition in all industries will be fierce, and if a candidate is skilled and desirable, they will get the chance to choose from several employment options.

So it’s crucial for any company to make sure that its employees are provided with the best possible experience while working.

New beginnings

At TRISOFT, we believe that these 2022 trends allow businesses to consolidate their processes and warrant a comprehensive approach to the well-being of employees.

By responding to workers’ needs and offering them an optimal work environment, the company’s culture will be observed and enforced, organizational goals will be achieved in the best possible way, people will be happier and more satisfied, and the entire labor market will evolve as a result of dedication, digitalization and modernization.

Get a head start in implementing them, so you can keep in front of the competition and evolve along with the circumstances.
