An idea takes flight

Soaring above the heavens in a metal bird, I cast aside the everyday wonder of a palm-sized device that is pulling Godzilla movies out of thin air. Instead of reveling in these modern wonders that the ancients never imagined, I practice something that the ancients taught was possible but conventional wisdom says is not.

That is, I “remote view” and allow my consciousness to directly acquire information distant from me in space and time, inaccessible to my local senses.

Too cheap to pay for in-flight WiFi, I do not have access to an online target practice site (AKA “target pool”) at the moment. This will have to be a precognitive session; the remote viewing will be completed first and then the target selected later.

Take that, causality! I swipe out a brief note of intent on my smartphone:

Over a year ago, I plunked down more money than I care to remember for David Morehouse’s online Extended Remote Viewing (ERV) course. Since then I have tried and failed to have any success with his methods on at least thirty occasions (while significantly improving my ability to fall asleep).

But I am stubborn and resolve to try again. Hitting “play” on my phone, I pop in some wireless earbuds and let the sound of pink noise wash over me.

Here I am, wearing a black face mask and hood, sitting in stillness like a fantasy ninja training under a waterfall. Does my serene yet powerful aura draw the fascinated gaze of other passengers? I’d like to think so. This is most likely how I seem:

Morehouse’s cooldown process is longer than I’d remembered. I’ve miscalculated. (Silly ninja.) Nearly thirty minutes later, I haven’t even reached Sanctuary, my imaginary safe place from which to launch a mental exploration.

The final descent will start soon. It is now or never! While Morehouse waxes poetically about how I am a gossamer veil being blown back and forth by the winds of eternity or whatever, I mentally jump ahead and try to allow myself to recognize information about the target, which I’d designated, “T1.”


The session

Soon after, a procession of ghostly images strobes across the churning field of blue-black static behind my closed eyelids. This takes less than a minute. I record:

Short and sweet (and strange)? Although there’s more I’d like to explore, I’m out of time. The plane is lurching and my bones are rattling as we approach the airport.


The target (potentially a spoiler)

Hours later, upon arriving home, I access my favorite remote viewing target pool and retrieve a random intermediate level target. (I’ve since found where the picture originates, and I am including as a Google Photos link. Please click for a closer view.)

The target photo is of a group of people, outdoors, arranged in pairs, standing in a line. They are wearing something like samurai outfits. Each person is facing sideways, legs akimbo, with arms reaching up in the air towards their partner’s, as if practicing a martial arts strike.


Understanding the session data

RedCairo, the patron of the Dojo Psi website, wrote on the nature of remote viewing imagery in an excellent forum post this year. She was describing personal mental language, sharing insights hard-won after decades of practice and critical self-assessment.

Her message had been, in part, prompted by one of my own. Now I recall it and wonder. This is the specific information I would need, two months before I needed it. RedCairo wrote on the topic of sequential visual impressions:

Statics in series (record it, then another, record that, then another) tend to be ongoing ‘corrections’ like descriptive-algebra. Like I might write down: stacked flat rectangles, then I see something like circular fan blades. The data is not the second thing, the data is the first description I wrote down ‘as adjusted by’ the change between that and the second thing, so in that case it’s either ‘arranged in circle’ or ‘multiple same shape/size flat wooden pieces NOT stacked vertically” and then usually another thing will further modify it (it’s a conversation between what you perceive, and the corrections). People who take all of them as direct data rather than this as a series tend to end up with a session filled with a whole variety of different things none of which are the target as a result.

So paying attention to the ‘kind’ of visual will help as I suspect that some are more accurate than others though which may vary by person. And if you’re viewing, pay attention to ‘describe, don’t identify’ which is easier to forget on visual impressions.

RedCairo has provided the lens through which my imagery can be interpreted. Separating data characteristics from the literal description, considering the change between each sequential image, here’s the information packed into my session data:

Some other similarities exist between my visuals and the target photo. The pairs of faux-samurai are in a similar perspective to the cargo train. Although I did not write it at the time and so cannot count it, the initial image had a reddish-brown color, much like the uniforms worn by the people in the photo.


Hit or miss?

Skeptics will say there’s unassailable proof that I’ve failed. Remote viewing is debunked yet again! In the target photo, there’s no spider, no long, segmented insect thing, no cargo train. The Amazing Randi would chuckle — if he hadn’t already been dissipated into materialist, atheist non-existence.

Remote viewers and the agnostic should recognize that my impressions relate to the target in several striking ways. Nothing I’ve experienced is a literal representation of the photograph, but each mental image carries a truth or insight. Taken together in sequence, they describe key elements of the target photo startlingly well.

Much as RedCairo has done for me, I hope that this experience provides context and insight that will be useful for your journey.
