Who is Yannis Moati?
Yannis has a rich background of 15 years in travel, from guiding tours in Europe at a young age to co-founding an exotic travel agency, and then directing a New York-based global tour operator company.
Throughout his professional life, for both his clients and personal travels, Yannis had to always pull strings to get a more personalized hotel check-in or check-out times.
Frustration turned to illumination, witnessing first-hand the important customer behavioral shifts of the ‘on-demand’ economy: something could be done in boosting hotel revenues by selling un-committed inventory for the day.
An Overview
HotelsByDay makes it easier for customers to find and book their one-day stays. They help users navigate around rigid check-in and checkout times so customers can utilize the hotel rooms when they need them — and hotels can bring in additional revenue and add the revenue stream to their current booking system easily through HotelsByDay’s platform. Hotels earn 50% net revenue for a day room when it would otherwise be empty, and guests have somewhere to relax during the day if they need to. So far, HotelsByDay has earned over $5M in gross bookings revenue to date, and 35% of customers are repeat users. They have over 700 North American and London hotels in their system, booked over 54,000 reservations, and have been featured on the Lodging Leaders podcast, as well as multiple other media outlets.
