Re Human Day 41
Re-inventing ourselves has always been the most important skill. I’m re-inventing myself by improving in 15 areas at a time. This post is part of my Re Human project.
Daily Habits
Books: A free alternative to books — that’s good if used wisely/if you have a great filter, is Podcasts. Every week or so, I accumulate several podcasts that my friends send me or that I hear about from newsletters, etc. so on Saturdays or Sundays I’ve been listening to them. Yesterday the Nick Kokonas podcast was awesome (3hrs long). Today I listened to four podcasts (bc they weren’t 3hours long). The ones I marked with a heart are the ones I liked most:
Re Human Extended Activity: Saturdays is Music Production and Digital Drawing & Painting
Digital Drawing & Painting.
Continued drawing for my “boats vs fixed point in the map” post.
Music Production
Worked on that “drop”. Improved it but still not there yet. I think that it will be ready for a snippet on Soundcloud next session.
Also did some Graphic Design today!
Basically just put together the icons in a format that would work as a cover photo for my newly-redesigned Re Human blog landing page. I learned that Medium allows one to create “sections” and choose posts to feature in different sections in a Publication. In terms of graphic design, I used Figma and I learned how to put space selected items evenly — horizontal spacing, and vertical “tidying up” (real name of a function Figma has).
Writing: This post and a daily thought.
Fitness: My warmup (full body), human flag & handstands practice.
Meditation: 15mins in the morning and 15mins in the afternoon!
Piano: Been practicing recall (best way to memorize/learn ) for La La Land’s Sebastian and Mia’s theme. Takes some time to actually remember all notes without looking.
Soccer trick juggling: Today I didn’t get two around the worlds in a row either but getting better with the shoes I decided to use (because before I did my juggles without shoes — after I realized I was devastating my other new running shoes).
Random Surprise
Great, short video (minute and a half) of Steve Job’s “philosophy on life”:
