It all started with an innocent TikTok. Creator Girl On Couch posted a video titled “Did I just write the song of the summer?” In the video, she sings “I’m looking for a man in finance, trust fund, 6'5”, blue eyes.”

The caption reads “Can someone make this into an actual song plz just for funzies.”

You don’t always get what you want in life, but when it comes to the internet, sometimes all you have to do is ask. TikTok creators and DJs quickly answered the call, and her verses were remixed into several beats until an old favorite emerged victorious: Like a G6, the 2010 hit released by Far East Movement.

Once the internet had the beat down, the video parodies and montages began, from collections of tall men wearing white button-down shirts and navy blue vests grabbing coffee out “in the wild” to women hiding their tall, blue-eyed men since everyone is looking for them now. Not even David Guetta could resist the trend.

And now, the flash mobs are starting to pop up, which makes perfect sense — if the culture has decided to relive the early 2010s, we might as well go all out.

The internet hasn’t been this…
