Rejoice two-wheels-aficionados, what we’ve all been hoping and waiting for has been confirmed. Indian Motorcycle, yesterday announced that the Scout FTR 1200 Tracker will indeed go into production.

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE FTR 1200 — STREET BIKE CONFIRMED

Unveiled, last year at EICMA the FTR 1200 Tracker custom sparked what can be described as a frenzy of social media superlatives. Built using the Scout platform and styled after Indian’s ever indomitable FTR750 Flat Tracker, a series of videos and a world tour has done nothing to abate that frenzy.

Now finally, at Wheels & Waves in Biarritz, France, Indian has relented and given us what we wanted.

FTR 1200 — SPECIFICATIONS & RELEASE DATE, YET TO BE ANNOUNCED

Specifications, nor an official release date are yet to be announced. And only a handful of journalists so far, have laid eyes on the production prototype of the FTR 1200 — all behind-closed-doors again at Wheels and Waves. Signs point to a v-twin with a trellis frame and a 2019 release date.

Steve Menneto, President, of Indian Motorcycle commented that “When we unveiled the FTR1200 Custom at EICMA, we said we’d listen to feedback from riders around the world — riders definitely have spoken and the response has been overwhelming. We’re proud and excited to announce that we will be putting the FTR 1200 into production.”

It’s anticipated that there will be a rather long list of riders putting down deposits to secure bikes when dates are officially announced. In the meantime don’t delay in entering yourself into Indian Motorcycle’s prize draw, to win one of the first FTR1200s that rolls off the assembly line.
