Behind the Network (BTN): May 11th, 2022
The first installment of BTN’s “Meet the Team” segments!
The Render Network Team, like the community, is a diverse group with a unique set of skills that come together to help make the Render Network into what it is today. In this BTN post, we want to shine a light on one of the members of our team, starting with our newest member: Edgar Irizarry!
Let’s begin with an introduction:
Edgar recently joined the Render Network team as our Marketing, Community and Social Media Manager, where he has been focusing on fostering a deeper community alongside our community moderators. Outside of learning the ropes, Edgar has also been working on showcasing artists that use Render, as well as fleshing out the Render Network Instagram presence (if you’re not following, give it a look to see the Render Network artist community there!). He is also working on some exciting new social projects in the works that we’re hoping to debut over the coming months.
So Edgar, what kind of work did you do before coming to the Render Network Team?
“I spent the past 6 years of my professional career working in the world of Marketing and Partnerships; mainly focused on community-based brands. I began my career working for a Chinese-based investment firm in the Southwestern region of China. I worked my way to become a Marketing Lead working with the local government on economic development campaigns hosting and organizing investment symposiums for investors from different parts of the world.”
“I later moved to New York City and began working with the SVP of Marketing for a global entertainment entity. This position granted me the opportunity to expand the brand’s community through programs and unique touchpoints. Before beginning my career at Render Network, I led a Marketing team for a New York based social brand and helped grow and strengthen their community. As part of our brand-building efforts, we received recognition from brands like Vogue, New York Times, Oprah Magazine, United Nations, etc.”
Sounds like you’ve had quite a career so far. What made you interested in joining the Render Network Team as your next step?
“I became interested and super passionate about the Web3 space about a year and a half ago. Render Network is a company leading the transition from Web2 to Web3. I absolutely loved everything about the company and their solution. The Community Management role seemed like a dream for someone with my background and passion for community building. I am also an art enthusiast, so getting the opportunity to support and find new ways to amplify the voices of artists is something that I want to commit myself to doing within the role.”
Amazing! And when did you join up with the Render Network Team?
“I have been on the Render Network team since February 2022. It’s been a privilege to join such an incredible team.”
In your brief experience so far, what has been the most interesting part of getting to know the Render Network Community and landscape?
“The most interesting part of getting to know the Render Network community has been the opportunity to connect with individuals (artists) who share a deep passion for what they do on a daily basis. Within my short period of time here at Render Network, I have met some incredible humans. The energy from those on our team and from our community as a whole has been infectious.”
“Playing a small role in a community that truly values a company’s solution and their efforts makes the role of supporting those individuals that much more rewarding.”
“I genuinely enjoy receiving social media shout outs from artists who share the impact that the network has had on their lives.”
Is there anything that you would like to say directly to the community?
“I am excited to be a part of creating more solutions that continue to nurture, foster, and grow the Render Network community. It’s an honor and privilege to be in this role. I am here to serve and create more value for all who are a part of what we’re doing at Render Network. If we can showcase your work created on Render or feature your upcoming drops, or if you have ideas for new initiatives that would help the community, please message me on our Render Instagram or Twitter channels.”
Upcoming Work
We have not forgotten our message from last week, and we’ve taken time to address some of the Render Network’s community questions, as well as look around the Metaverse at other projects and give our opinions on some of the trends that we’ve seen developing. Be on the lookout for our next BTN!
