Over the last several months the Render Network Twitter account has highlighted a number of creators who have been using the Render Network to make exciting creations. With the latter half of the year upon us, the Render Network team wanted to take a look back at some of the users who made the first half of 2022 such an exciting one for the Render Network.

Markus Kanzler (Marterium) (Instagram: @marterium, Twitter: @Marteriumx)

The “language” behind art has been a focus to Markus Kanzler, the face behind Marterium, for years. By exploring different combinations of form, medium, color and style, he has tried to capture the abstract and translate it into the tangible. His desire to marry different aspects of creative expression has extended to the tools he uses, a challenge that he undertakes with excitement as he has taught himself to use C4D, Houdini, Photoshop, After Effects, Octane and now the Render Network to bring his work to life.

Behind his art is a strong desire to evoke powerful emotional responses from those who view his art and to stimulate their awareness through the medium. This springs from his background in psychology, which he studied prior to beginning Marterium in 2019. Though he has opted to remain in the background, Markus has become a creative “therapist” of sorts, allowing his fans to explore themselves through the work that he presents.

You can view Marterium’s portfolio here and browse his creations on Superrare. A recent highlight from 2022, was Marterium’s collaboration with Pak on ASH Chapter II: Metamorphosis with works Dystopia and Utopia.

Spenser Dickerson (SpenserFX) (Instagram: @sd.imaging, Twitter: @SpenserFX)

Spenser Dickerson has been using his many talents to help brands throughout the world bring their products to life with immersive ad campaigns. Working with a wide variety of brands, ranging from beverage brands like Zima, to shoe juggernauts like Nike and even alcohol brands like Black Kraken Rum, Spenser has been able to tread the lines of clear communication with a neon-future stylistic aesthetic that immediately draws the eye. This is by no means an accident, but simply the product of years of dedicated work:

“For years I have studied and practiced visual communication design in all of its forms. With a degree in Photo Illustration and a heavy concentration in commercial photography, I was able to bring all of those photographic and design principles into the 3D world with much confidence. Food has always been a subject of interest due to its strong organic properties and how unique food compositions can be.”

Spenser discovered in his work that power and speed weren’t just elements to be evoked, but core components needed on the hardware and software end to do his work. This is what initially led him to OctaneRender, and eventually to the Render Network as his work needed to take that next step in speed and power:

“Octane render has provided me with both and it continues to excel in both of those areas at an exponential rate. This has made it increasingly easier to dive into more motion work as well, and with the optimizations and efficiency of RNDR network; that’s been both an awesome and pleasant experience.”

Daniel Teolfe (Instagram: @teolfe, Twitter: @teolfe)

Born and raised in Brazil, Daniel Teolfe left a career in architecture 4–5 years ago in order to create in the realm of 3D. As he put it, the transition was easy:

“I was more interested in Digital Art than Architecture itself, so it was pretty easy for me to switch from one to another.”

Though the transition may have been easy for him, what is evident is that he has not lost the foundations that got him here, with his art showcasing a strong understanding of design, alongside a clear pride in his Brazilian heritage.

Since beginning his transition into 3D, Daniel has focused on reaching out and forging connections through his art. The idea of being able to take something from within himself and reach an audience through the symbols, ideas or even space in which his art was created has captured his desire. Alongside this passion to connect has been a desire to empower those who view his art:

“I guess one of my dreams as an artist is to make people feel empowered and belonging somewhere.”

Isaac Udogwu (Instagram: @eyesackudawgo, Twitter: @eyesackudawgoo)

Isaac Udogwu has been building a future through his art, and the Render Network has been proud to be a part of realizing this vision. As a multidisciplinary artist and practitioner of martial arts, Isaac sees his creative pursuits as more than just an opportunity to express, but also to grow himself and his people.

“What drives me as an artist is seeing what I can create, re-imagine, and bring forth as I evolve within my craft. Both in art and martial arts, I always challenge myself to [be] better by finding different methods to achieve a certain goal.”

One of those goals has been to foster a space through his art for people of the African Diaspora to thrive and achieve success. Leaning into afro-futurist stylings in work, which as a wise friend put “[afrofuturism] is simply black people existing in the future”, Isaac has been able foster a digital environment that he sees as a form of legacy, not only for his children but for people like himself at large.

“Something that is always important to me is creating a space where my family and my people can exist freely. I want my daughters to thrive [in] this world and my entire lineage to want for nothing. Generational wealth is important, but not just in [a] financial sense but a spiritual one as well.”
