RNP-006 and RNP-007 Recap
Following up on two of the latest RNPs, and what happens next
Final votes for both RNP-006 and RNP-007 concluded December 5th at 5pm PT, with the final results being that both RNPs passed:
RNP-006 Final Vote: 4.14M Approve // 3.2K Deny
RNP-007 Final Vote: 4.27M Approve // 3.1K Deny
The Treasury Wallet voted to Abstain, reaching quorum. So now both are listed as Approved and added Roadmap to be implemented.
Thank you to all who participated in one or both of the final votes, and for those that did not and who may not be aware, below is a brief summary of the RNPs that were voted on, and what happens next now that they have passed.
RNP-006 and RNP-007, Summarized
RNP-006 is the finalization of both the Solana Upgrade and BME Emissions schedule for the Render Network. The Solana Upgrade is the introduction of the RENDER (SPL) token, a new token built on the Solana blockchain that will become the standard for the Render Network as it fully transitions to Solana. As voted on in RNP-002, the Burn-&-Mint Equilibrium model has been on the Render Network roadmap since 002’s approval, and RNP-006 acts as an addendum by codifying the year 1 emissions schedule and rewards calculation mechanisms.
RNP-007 is the proposal of a new compute client, FEDML, being added to the compute client pool (which includes IO.NET and Beam). FEDML as a client is geared towards AI LLM services, with a focus on bridging the gaps between AI partners and compute power. With FEDML as a compute client, the Render Network will service an even wider range of AI workloads, expanding the use cases for the Network by a significant margin.
What Happens Next
