We officially held our event in adjacent to the Mardi Gras Party at the apartment. We ended up getting a lot of attention from the residents, and people are really curious about our project.

We set up the tags we prepared on the table

At first people are just curious, but we took the initiative to introduce our intentions and propose ideas if they approach the board.

Participant tying a tag onto the string
It also served as a conversation starter
There are some hilarious responses too — for example, “know on my door if you need ins followers”
Participant was going through the tags other people wrote and wrote a flower tag for someone

Progress

Before the event on 2/25 and 2/26
2/27 and 2/29
3/01 and 3/03

The final result of the board was fairly satisfying, although we did have some rule breakers use the manila tags and we didn’t see any participation from floor 4 or 15 (one tag was mistakingly put on 4 when it belonged on 5). We plan on reaching out to most or all residents who participated to get more feedback on this event and hopefully a prototype of a platform to host our event ideas and assets. We plan on organizing the tags into bigger categories to begin to see patterns and better design future activities for residents.
