The Replex Kickoff Event 2018
Since being founded in 2016, Replex has been fortunate to continue its growth throughout 2017. In the past year, we travelled a lot speaking at various events around the world, gained our first seed round investors, expanded to different locations and built up a team that has been central to the success of Replex. To celebrate our achievements and bring together the whole team that contributed to our success, we arranged our first Replex Kickoff meeting, which was held on the 18th — 19th January 2018 in Berlin.
Teamwork as a Key to Success
The event predominantly served two purposes. Firstly, with an interdisciplinary team working from all around Germany and US, it is not always easy to keep the communication between teams aligned. The Kickoff in Berlin encouraged all teams to present their work, achievements and goals. Along with an overview of the companies’ current state, we discussed sales processes, agile methodologies and strategies to ensure effective information sharing and to better accomplish our ambitious goals for 2018. The open exchange of experiences really helped the teams further understand the relative challenges within the respective teams and how we can all work together to help each other in a more effective way.
Communication is Key
Secondly, as the Replex team has grown through so many amazing new team members, the event was the first opportunity for everyone to get to know each other outside of the working context. Pushing the limits of innovation on a daily basis requires everyone working together as a team, exchanging ideas and to think creatively. Spending time together improves communication and leads to a better understanding of everyone’s point of views. Additionally, as our team members have very different backgrounds, it was exciting to learn about their stories and opinions on all kinds of interesting (not always work related) topics. In that regard, we also want to thank the team at GTEC Berlin for providing us large amounts of pizza and beverages to start into a fun evening after all the hard work done at the office.
Concluding two insightful and productive days and to confirm the cliché of employees at IT companies being “nerds”, we visited the Computerspielemuseum (Computer games museum) in Berlin. While we learnt a lot about the history of video games, we could also indulge in childhood memories and challenge our team mates at the “PainStation”. While this experience was (as the name suggests) not entirely pain free, we all left back to our respective home cities with a very positive feeling for 2018 and look forward to the future success of Replex as a team.
Conclusion
The Replex Kickoff Event 2018 was a complete success for everyone involved. We exchanged ideas and thoughts, and most importantly, had a fantastic time coming together as a team. Looking back on a very action-packed year for the company, we are excited to see how much more our team can achieve in the future.
