Can only a guitarist, a bass player and a drummer break the stage? Of course they can... So much is proven by the concert of the rhythm’n’blues trio led by Doghouse Sam Thursday 9 November in Hasselt’s Muziekodroom.

The audience could only surrender in the ‘Doghouse atmosphere’. They couldn’t resist their catchy and energetic lyrics. Firstly , the music band warmed up with rock & roll rhythms until they soon announced the arrival of the purest blues.

The trio with an American-style dress is composed by Jack o Roonie on bass, Franky Gomez on drums and Sam on vocals and guitar. They managed to fill the whole place with their funny but heart-filled lyrics and honesty.

The band has won the Belgian Blues Challenge and moreover they got second at the European Blues Challenge. Doghouse Sam & his Magnatones are more ambitious than ever and presented their new album titled ‘Going Places’ in the Hasselt Muziekodroom.

On stage, there was a special memory for the incredible drum solo of Franky Gomez. He’s got a very distinctive and creative style of playing rhythm which got him elected “best drummer of the Netherlands” in 2010. Meanwhile, Sam’s catchy voice was intertwined with the virtuoso upright bass of Jack o Roonie. The bass player has literally been all around the world with his music.

The singer was totally dedicated to his audience because he didn’t let the public disconnect at any time. “Are you ready? Let’s do it!”- were some of him expressions during the show. “I was wrong” and “Nobody else around” were some of the most requested songs by the public. However, it was with the song titled “A little while” when the audience couldn’t stop moving to the rhythm of the Blues music.

The start of the new album has only just begun. The first stop was Hasselt but Doghouse & his Magnatons will also make the stage shake at Leuven, Kinrooi and Sint-Truiden. However, the show won’t only visit Belgium because of the show will also be in the Netherlands and France.

The group already has a recognized reputation thanks to its subsequent albums. Despite their recognizable music, their songs always have a fresh air that definitly consolidate their position in the European Blues.

In spite of missing the youngest audience in the concert, undoubtedly the show becames a brilliant opportunity not only blues lovers, also for Rock & Roll fans and people that search a kind of sincere and honest music.
