For the fourth year in a row, techno queen Charlotte de Witte has won the title of ‘Best DJ in the World’, according to the British trade magazine DJ Mag. The young woman from Ghent is already at the top of the playlists for the songs of the moment. With The Age Of Love or Pri de Witte attracts more than 55 million listeners.

De Witte presents herself on social media with the slogan “no sleep mindset”. As the Billboard interview “20 Questions with Charlotte de Witte: Quarantine Streams, A Love Of Trance & Bringing Her Parents to Raves” explains, this young dj has a life full of emotions.

For Charlotte her profession is much more than just a job, it is an energetic environment. As she explains in the same Billboard interview, being a deejay excites her. De Witte says that when she performs in front of more than 30,000 people around the world, she feels more connected to the music and the people than ever before.

Charlotte de Witte also has a strong connection to her hometown Ghent (Belgium). After a few years living in the United States, Witte has returned to Ghent, where she focused on making her home and doing the things she loves. One of the techno-dj’s favorite hobbies is food. According to her many interviews, she is crazy about all kinds of cuisines, whether Italian, French or Peruvian cuisine. What’s more, Charlotte says that in her spare time she likes to experiment and make new recipes to share with her family.

For Charlotte de Witte, family is also important. In a multitude of interviews and social media posts, the DJ has shown her affection and closeness to her parents. In particular, her father has become her number one fan at major festivals such as Pukkelpop. The artist explains that for her parents it is a bit surprising to see up to 30,000 people following their daughter’s rhythm. However, she acknowledges that her parents are the first to enjoy the concert and to be with her every moment.

Charlotte also acknowledges that much of the musical influence she had as a child was due to her father’s work. De Witte’s father works for EMI, a profession that was the reason why there was always music in the house, she says. The artist explains that thanks to the support of her parents, especially at the age of 17, it was possible for her to become a DJ and pursue a career in music. It was a great fortune that her parents have always been positive about her choice and believed in her. From the first techno festival in 2010 to the last Tomorrowland in 2023, they have been by her side.
