New trace might solve mysterious ‘Brabant Killers’ case

After the confession of a former police officer, new investigations could solve the mystery around the ‘Nivelles Gang’. Is Christian B. actually the mysterious Giant of the gang?

It has almost been 30 years since the ‘Nivelles Gang’, also known as the crazy Brabant killers, terrorized cities around Brussels, Belgium. In the early 1980s the group suddenly appeared, starting a series of attacks in supermarkets. Their robberies were brutal, as they gunned around in the shops, killing the staff, costumers and even children. When they disappeared abruptly after a period of three years, 28 people were dead as well as dozens of other injured and traumatised.

Despite the number of attacks the case has stayed unsolved, the gang members unknown. However, recently a former member of the federal police confessed to have been the ringleader, who people referred to as ‘The Giant’. The man made his confession only hours before he passed away.

Officials have confirmed that they are carefully optimistic about solving the case around the ‘Crazy Brabant Killers’, that has struggled Belgium for the last three decades. Detectives have been investigating for the last few weeks whether the confession was true, hoping to reveal the robbery gang members’ identities.
