Spanberger Has Held Five Open, Community-Focused Town Halls In The District Since Taking Office in January

Spanberger updates constituents and answers questions at Henrico County town hall in April

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger today announced the details for her sixth in-district town hall.

Before taking office, Spanberger committed to holding a town hall in each of the ten counties in Virginia’s Seventh District. So far, she has held five open town halls since arriving in the House in January.

The details for the Amelia County town hall are as follows:

WHEN: Friday, May 24, 6:00–7:00 pm (doors open at 5:30pm)

WHERE: Amelia County High School Auditorium

ADDRESS: 8500 Otterburn Road, Amelia, VA 23002

“I’m looking forward to listening directly to constituents in Amelia and giving everyone an update on the work I’m doing in the House on behalf of Central Virginia,” said Spanberger. “Since our last town hall, we’ve done a great deal of work in some of the areas that are a top concern for Central Virginians. Before taking questions, I will give everyone a brief update on my efforts to bring cheaper prescription drugs to consumers, increase choice and lower costs in the health insurance market, and support Central Virginia’s farmers and cattlemen. I look forward to hearing from the people I serve, and I appreciate another opportunity to answer their questions.”

In her first four months in office, Spanberger held town halls in Goochland, Spotsylvania, Nottoway, Henrico, and Louisa Counties. In addition to answering questions in an open, community-forum format, Spanberger will update constituents on recent developments in Washington, such as her first hearing as Chair of the Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee and her appointment to the House Rural Broadband Taskforce.
