The bearded dragon enclosure should be spacious and secure without costing a fortune. It also needs to be well-ventilated, heat-resistant, and durable.

It can be difficult to find a suitable terrarium for a bearded dragon. There are a wide range of tanks available for bearded dragons. They vary in price, design, safety, and durability. Beardies housed in the wrong terrarium can have a shorter lifetime, higher stress, and may get injured.

What type of Enclosure is Best for a Bearded Dragon

Glass Terrarium
The most common type of cage for docile, cold-blooded reptiles is a glass terrarium. As a result, it’s no wonder that this is one of the most cost-effective options. These enclosures tends to be very heavy. Moving the enclosure once it has been set up with your Beardie inside will be difficult. Also, there is a high chance of your getting stressed if it sees its own reflection.

Melamine Cages

DIY enthusiasts enjoy making their own melamine cages. It allows customers the option of customizing the enclosure to their liking. Melamine board is a form of wood that has been treated with a fire-resistant plastic finish. Artificial rock formations can be installed indoors to simulate your pet’s natural habitat.

The only drawback is that your Beardie can only be seen from one direction. Melamine is much more difficult to deal with than plywood. Finally, melamine cages are insufficiently insulated. Although bearded dragons may not have an issue with it, a drop in temperature may cause your pet’s color to change.

PVC Cages

A heavy-duty material is used to make a PVC enclosure. It is both extremely sturdy and lightweight, making it easy to transport. Regrettably, this form of imprisonment comes at a high cost. It’s also less enticing to certain pet owners.
