Poet Anirban Chattopadhyay is honoured with ‘Bongo Shreshtha’ Award

After the honor of ‘Poet of the year, 2022" by Ukiyoto publication, the reknowned bengali poet Anirban Chattopadhyay is going to get the ‘Bongo Shrestha’ award this year. Banga Shrestha Sammanna programme is going to be held in Kolkata on August 25, Anirban will be honored on that occasion. News came that he is being honored with this award & title for his outstanding literary work in the field of modern Bengali literature. The Bengali poet, currently living in Odisha state, was born & brought up in Bihar and Jharkhand. Later coming to Purulia, the red soil country of West Bengal, here only he came across with the bengali language and literature, which turned into love. Also started reading literature of different languages. Started writing stories as a teenager, first story book ‘Anirban’ published in 2011 by Ashabari Publications followed by ‘Anubhav’. In 2018, a new experimental genre of recitation was done with Anirban’s poetry.

Anirban’s writings undoubtedly make a special impression in the present day for its innovative & his signature style of poetry. Although many people identify him as a political poet but he said, “I don’t write poetry by politics, I write by thinking, so the words should be thoughtful rather than political. And no one in the world is apolitical.” He is also known for his deep understanding of cienema and it’s language, he talks about cinema in various newspapers, seminars and conferences.
