The Request Network Foundation promotes the adoption of blockchain by providing a protocol which allows everyone to develop their own financial solutions based on the Request Network technology. The Foundation establishes a standard for blockchain transactions, shaping the future of payments (i.e. invoices, loans, payments, salary, donations) and their compliance for accounting, tax and audit integration.

In this blogpost we update you about:

  • We have joined the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
  • The Request Network moderators are invited to Singapore
  • Update on recent app development
  • Hiring Full-Stack & Back-end blockchain devs

The Request Network Foundation Joins The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA)

We have joined the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), the world’s largest open source blockchain initiative. As a member of the EEA, we will collaborate with industry leaders in pursuit of ethereum-based enterprise technology best practices, open standards, and open-source reference architectures.

We are excited to join the EEA. The EEA offers us the ability to work with leaders in the financial industry to address specific, enterprise-based use cases. We look forward to helping define the building blocks needed to drive the Web 3.0 era of decentralized, connective intelligence.

Request Invitational: Community Managers

In one week from now, several Request moderators from both the official Reddit and Telegram channel will join the Foundation team in Singapore for a week of collaboration. We will work together to (re)define the future of Request community management, set up a workflow between our decentralized moderators and the foundation team, and prepare the community management team for the scaling organisation. Apart from this, by inviting the moderators we hope to give them great insights on what happens behind the scenes at the Request Foundation office, how we are internally working together and what we are currently focused on.

As the moderators are representatives of the broader Request Network community, please make sure to fuel them with as many ideas and insights about the community as possible to bring to Singapore.
Adam (AdmREQ on Reddit) has now created a Call for Input thread where all ideas, suggestions and questions are collected by the moderator team as inspiration for our workshops.

Update on app developments: Crowdfunding beta feedback integration, progression made on the Payments Dashboard app and multipayee support partially finished

  • Support ERC20 & BTC in applications: As we have delivered ERC20 support on app.request.network and in the Payments app, we are currently focused on integrating BTC in the same fashion while looking into additional ERC20 tokens to support.
  • Launch Crowdfunding App: Since the opening of our beta period two weeks ago, we have integrated feedback to improve the user experience of both funders and fundraisers. This includes UI tweaks, as well as new features. We are still on-boarding new beta testers to further test the dApp before launching it to the public, so if you are interested send an email to crowdfunding@request.network to be whitelisted.
  • Payments Dashboard App: Last month, we’ve defined a detailed list of technical specs needed for the Payments Dashboard. After finishing the list, we’ve designed a first prototype that we have used for usability testing within a very close range of people. We are starting to work on the development of this dashboard in the next days, to ship a final functional MVP after. We are constantly looking for new merchants who would be willing to be beta testers for this dashboard. Being a beta tester for the payments dashboard means you are invited to live test the prototype and give direct feedback on user experience in a one-to-one usability test with our product owner. The requirements to become a beta tester for the Payment Dashboard are listed below:
    - Are a crypto enthusiast.
    - Available for 45 minutes to 1 hour, and have a stable internet connection.
    - Have a webshop or a SaaS product and want to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment option.
If you think your profile fits, the Payments product owner Julien will be happy to talk to you. Please send your name, a link to your shop or SaaS website and a short description of your product or service to payments@request.network so we can come back to you as soon as possible.
  • Metadata implementation on app.request.network: The metadata requirements to integrate on the front-end of app.request.network have been successfully listed. These requirements will be implemented by our new front-end developer, who will join the team at the end of this month.
  • Multipayee on app.request.network: We have successfully integrated multipayee support on the gateway of app.request.network thanks to merging a PR (Pull Request) made by the Donaid team. One can now see all the different payees of a payment request and automatically pay them in one payment action, increasing usability of complex payments. We are working on design updates to show the amount every payee receives, to finalize this goal on the roadmap.
  • Accounting app specifications: We are currently defining technical and design specifications for the Request Accounting app by doing internal and external research. When completely defined, we will move into the production phase of the app.

Looking for more talented Full-Stack and Back-End blockchain devs

It is humbling to see the amount of quality applications we are receiving for our open job positions. As we are looking to grow exponentially as an organisation, we are still looking to fill multiple positions for both Full-Stack & Back-End developers to work on both the Request protocol and multiple Request Applications, such as (but not limited to) the Payments, Crowdfunding and Accounting apps. Do you want to be part of an ambitious organisation that is aiming to reinvent the financial world? Make sure to view the job openings below:

- Back-End blockchain developer
- Full-Stack developer

Not a blockchain developer, but still interested in joining the Request Network Foundation? Send in an open application for any role, including your motivation, to join@request.network for consideration.
