RequestBox Roadmap 2019

Hi everyone!

So we know its been a while since you last heard from us but the RequestBox team has been working hard behind the scenes on some fresh ideas. We wanted to take this opportunity to share some exciting updates and enhancements lined up for RequestBox this year.

Over the past year, we have been gathering feedback from DJs and event organizers on the current state of the app to find areas to improve on. This has led us to a complete overhaul, shifting the focus back to the core idea of why we made RequestBox: Song requests.

We are completely re-designing the user interface to simplify the overall user experience of the App by removing any clutter that might get in the way of our core features. To achieve this, we will be removing the Song Sharing feature powered by YouTube. The original idea behind this feature was to get users to engage outside of events. By letting them share and react to their current favorite songs or music videos. However, this didn’t pan out exactly like we hoped as it often confused our users and shifted the focus away from Song Requests. This is why we have decided to say goodbye to song sharing in our next release.

Besides the major re-design and removing the shared songs features, we also have plans to improve and add new features to our actual “request box”. Hosts can expect a lot of quality of life improvements. Including a more organized request box with refined controls that improve the process of taking and receiving requests. As well as simplifying the create box process so Hosts can setup a box easily.

And finally, we understand that some users only encounter the app at parties so it doesn’t make much sense asking users to create an account just to request a song which can be a bit of a buzzkill. So taking that into account, we will soon be introducing guest accounts to make it easier for new users to jump right into the app and start requesting without any hassles.

So that’s all we have planned for now. Although the updates don’t seem much, we have a lot of work ahead of us to bring you this new release as soon as possible. We would love to hear your feedback on the changes so feel free to drop us a message on any platform.
