The pandemic squashed a lot of festivities. But there’s more to Christmas than that.

The big celebrations started to unravel before we’d even finished breakfast on Christmas Eve. A nephew’s roommate tested positive for COVID. A brother-in-law woke up sick. A step-sister came down with a fever.
