HoL Reflection 1

Turns out that coding in a group is not the easiest task in the world. The work was pretty evenly devided among the team but the section I was asked to do was not integrted into the final design. When trying to code with a group it is challenging because when something goes wrong, you need to dig through somebody else’s code (which you do not understand at all initially) and see past their odd choice in names for variables to look for a problem you have no idea is there. Aside from that, when it comes time to combine your code, you hit the problem of restructuring or renaming each part of your code so that it matches the other people’s code within the group. That being said, the rest of the project went fairly smoothly. Each member tackled their portion of the project and had no problem consulting each other with problems. The sources used should have been checked more thouroughly to prove credibility and we used far less data than I originally expected. It helps to know that limited data can be used so that metadata can be avoided at all costs. A little more time together to refine the result could have been helpful but in all I think the task was completed.

In the future I hope to find new and better ideas for my final so that I do not provide myself too intense of a workload.
