“Accessing your keyword feeds is such an essential part of the app that we wanted to make it as easy as we possibly could. Using the new menu allows you to see in one glance what’s new in your feeds.”- Jonathan Cremers, Senior Product Manager

When we launched Researcher back in 2017, it had a handful of chemistry journals, a sparse feature set and a couple of dozen users. Fast forward to today and Researcher has grown quite a lot with over 1,400,000 users representing over 190 countries and over 10,000 universities and institutions. The content coverage extends to over 15,500 academic publications and multiple features have been added to help simplify your discovery process.

As a team, we strive to improve your experience with each release and our most recent update contains the biggest design change to date. We believe this change will make your feeds easier to use and make sure that it’s easier than ever to find new papers that are relevant to your research.

You will notice that the position of your personalised feeds has changed. We have replaced the previous ‘desktop tab’ design with a hamburger menu common to social media mobile apps like Twitter and LinkedIn. We believe that this design change will allow you to access and seamlessly switch between your feeds on your mobile with ease. This design change will also benefit you if you have multiple feeds and feeds with long names.

The new menu will allow you easier access to your profile and will also give you a clearer overview of papers that have been added to each one via a pink dot that appears every time a new paper is added to one of your feeds.

We’re excited about what this means for you and your discovery process. This design change ensures that we can give you a product that helps you stay up to date and we believe that this is just the start of a new chapter in helping you to get to the information you need to make bigger and faster breakthroughs.
