It only takes me about four days in Copenhagen before I start Googling “Copenhagen apartments for rent” and “Can Americans buy property in Denmark?”. I love how easy it is to walk everywhere, how stylish it is, how friendly the people are, and (of course) how delicious the food is. We planned our trip to Europe around dinner at Noma. While Noma was worth the pilgrimage, it was far from the only good meal of our trip. Here’s my recap of our Copenhagen dining adventures.

Michelin Starred

  • Noma (**)— My favorite thing about Noma is how playful it is. Some fancy restaurants seem to forget that the whole point of dining out is to enjoy the meal, but joy is front and center at Noma. From the first course where you literally put your face in a bouquet of flowers to the final dish of caramel candles with edible wicks, we were laughing the whole way through.
  • Jordnaer (**)—Given all of the great options, I was pretty stressed about picking our second big dinner (yes, I know it’s not a reasonable thing to lose sleep over). Luckily we met a chef in France who told me that Jordnaer is his favorite restaurant in the world. Also, I was pretty curious about having dinner cooked by a two Michelin starred chef who used to be a gang enforcer and still has “HATE” tattooed across his knuckles. The dinner was amazing — maybe one of the best I’ve ever had — every course was decadent…
