News from Latin America and Reserve App

Well it’s been another rocky week in crypto, but Reserve keep plugging away.. and it’s all starting to bear fruit. [fruitychain?]

App Automation

The team recently announced that they had made crypto transactions in the app automatic, so no support authorisation is required — obviously freeing up support resource and making the app faster and easier to use. It’s gone down very well!

It might not sound like much, but with the magic ratio of 15000:1 users to support staff as the target, this is a pretty big deal.

User Invitations

To start with, the team were raffling 100 invites per week as the helpdesk software port was going on, and the buzz of excitement had started again.

But news has overtaken me — today the Team announced that the move to Intercom has gone very well and June will see a whole load more users — I’ll just let you read it :

“New chat system in the app
It was thanks to the reviews that we became aware of the inconveniences caused by the current internal chat of the app, from conversations that were closed without answer to long waiting lines, so we focused on working to provide a substitute solution for June the current Zendesk system over Intercom.

This change fixes the crash closure flaw, as well as increasing our ability to provide better support with a self-service approach to information. Thanks to this, we will be able to respond to users’ concerns and grant them access in a practical and simple way to all the information available in the app. Also, if they need support with a transaction, users can easily leave all the required data so that the agent can attend them directly. We are so excited to show you the results of this self-service focused update!

24/7 support It may be possible!
The update of the Support system was just one step to continue on the path that will allow us to grow sustainably and provide a higher quality service to more users, since in the last two months we welcomed and trained new team members Support, to support the loading and removal operations of the app in order to meet the objective of covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Although the app has had transfers from Reserve to Reserve 24/7 since last year, our function for deposits and withdrawals is still enabled within a restricted schedule generating certain difficulties among users, and it is time for that to change! In mid-June, we will gradually move towards an ever-expanding schedule; while we recruit new team members who will provide their services to process the operations you need, at the time of your preference.

Hyperinflation Project Update
Eradicating hyperinflation is a human cause, not a private project. That is why at Reserve we want to promote all the tools that help people protect themselves from inflation by teaching them how to use them to safeguard the value of their work.”

As we all know — adoption = success, and this is it with bells on. Summers looking good. I very much look forward to the 100 thousandth app user (a prize perhaps?) and maybe some accompanying stats.

I also found this ‘story’ on Facebook — credit to the author afterwards — it shows the sort of daily issues Reserve can solve when you don’t understand much about living every day with Hyperinflation

It was a cloudy day, looking like it would rain.
Juan left his house in a hurry early, his grandmother needed to take certain tension meds, a disease from which she suffered for many years but it was getting worse.
Juan had decided to tour all pharmacies in the central area of Maracay, even carrying a scribbled city map with the location of several of them where he hoped to get all the medications, his journey would take him to visit about 30 pharmacies approximately, something I might not even get completed in the same day, but I would try to visit them all.
He started his journey by visiting a nearby bakery of a friend of his, where he hoped to buy something for a quick breakfast and formally start his journey. While having breakfast in the bakery classic, a chunky and a malt, his bakery owner friend told Juan about an app called Reserve, which had helped this friend to change the money he fell from his panederia, to dollars, and so he managed to draw hyperinflation, Juan did not pay much attention to him, he found it funny even, believing it was a lie. Finished his breakfast, paid with his card and started touring the pharmacies…
Hours passed and visits to each pharmacy seemed to repeat as the answer in all was the same, ′′ not sorry, long ago we haven’t had those medications “.
They were already past noon, Juan was exhausted, but it was clear about his purpose, did not plan to surrender, after hours, negative answers in each establishment, and even after receiving a threat from a lady for having removed her masks for a moment to drink some water, Juan kept looking, he was already carrying half of the pharmacies travelled, but kept his faith high.
The clock on her wrist strikes 6:00 pm, her stomach roars, had not had lunch, and many businesses were closing, with faith already something broken decided to enter a last pharmacy she was going through and go home something discouraged.
To his surprise, pharma gave him a positive response, they had the meds! And they didn’t just have one of them, no, they had them all, and to the greatest wonder, at a medium-accessible price. Juan was very excited, asked for the meds, they gave him the price and I search his pocket for his card to cancel the amount… It felt like his heart stopped for a couple seconds when checking his wallet did not find his card, in the which one had all the money. When talking to the pharmaceutical she told him the only means of payment were, Card, Cash Currency, Zelle and Reserve.
It was just at that time that Juan remembered the conversation he had with his friend early in the morning, he did not hesitate to call him on the phone, when answering his friend informed Juan that he had left his card in the bakery, to which Juan he was relieved, but at the same time asked about Reserve to his friend, and if he could help him with the medical payment and then he would send him the money. His friend didn’t hesitate to help, Juan thought that just like he had heard of Zelle transactions, that these Reserve transactions would take several minutes or a couple hours to be verified, and his surprise was that in less than 30 seconds I send your friend the username provided by the pharmacy, the transaction was already ready, and they handed him the meds, Juan couldn’t believe it, he was even faster than paying with the same bank card.
Juan departed for his house to deliver the meds to his grandmother, he was going with a smile from ear to ear, he knew that the faith he had and perseverance helped him get the meds he wanted, he agreed with his friend that he would pass the next day by the bakery, not only to search for your card, but also to receive a good explanation for that Reserve app, as it works and how could you create your account, it was realized that having alternatives for payments and the fight against hyperinflation is something very important today.

Well, we’ve had the invites news and the successful more to Intercom and the recruitment of new support staff — what else I hear you say — well, there’s 7 new compliance staff been recruited — confirmed by Matt Gertler

So we’re starting to see some real speed now — more automation, more support staff, it’s really getting poised. I’m trying to stay calm and not get ahead of myself, but I can see the next few months being very good indeed.
