The Author’s Experience
I returned to Louisville in 2018 after living in San Francisco for a year. I came back to run a pilot with my company in Louisville and after that, planned to move over to the west coast to live in Oakland. However, I was going to celebrate my birthday in Louisville before I left.
I had my birthday on March 30th at the Omni, right around the time it opened, and it was a fantastic experience. The place was exquisite. I fell in love with the rooms, the atmosphere and amenities. I fell so hard that I booked a suite for my best friend’s birthday so she could also experience the same luxury and solace that captivated me.
Little did I know that it was foreshadowing my future. Like plans do sometimes, mine fell through — which I am so glad it did in retrospect — and I was no longer going to move to Oakland. And while it felt disappointing at that point, I wasn’t too sore about it. I remained in Louisville and at the end of the year I decided I wanted to move from my residence in South Louisville to somewhere downtown. A place that would be closer to my office, places I socialize at and where I could live a car free lifestyle — one of the things that attracted me to wanting to move over to the west coast.
Being a bit picky, my options were few, two to be exact; Main and Clay, and the Residences at Omni. I decided to visit the Residences first and get a preview of what the place looks like. I called them and visited minutes before closing. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the lady’s cheerful attitude, even though she was probably ready to head home. Her name is Serena, and she exemplified a grace of cheerfulness that I got to learn was the culture of all the staff and management.
I toured the facility and it was fantastic. I had never experienced any thing like this in Louisville or any other city I have lived in. I toured a studio apartment and on the 28th floor which had a great view. It was just the right space I needed since I prefer to live compactly. I went home and decided not to go to Main and Clay — an apartment who a friend of mine worked at — even though they had a better moving in special than the Omni. The $1000 move in special couldn’t make me change my decision and would be nothing compared to the ambiance, convenience and community I have enjoyed at the Residences at the Omni.
I saw the residents and they all seemed very cheerful. A lot of them looked like regular people, they didn’t seem snobbish like one might imagine because it is a luxury apartment. The Omni had a resident party after I moved in and I was able to interact more with the residents. They were even more delightful — so I made my decision and there was no looking back I moved into the Omni and ever since I’ve had a swell experience.
I love writing about what I love. Now I’m writing about the Residences at Omni, a place I love and a place that I know more people will fall in love with.
