After conducting a comprehensive study of over a hundred managers within my organization, particularly in public sector banks, my managerial approach underwent a profound transformation. Not only did this endeavor prompt personal growth, but it also led me to a significant realization: I identified more with the role of a manager than that of a leader.

Initially, I sought to enact change among my peers through constructive criticism. However, my efforts were met with little success, leaving me disillusioned. It became evident that attempting to alter the behavior of others without their genuine willingness to change proved futile. Consequently, I redirected my focus inward and initiated a journey of self-improvement, allowing my colleagues to chart their course.

It became apparent to me that not all managers possess the qualities of effective leaders. There exists a notable distinction between the two roles. While a manager may provide the tools and guidance necessary to ascend the hierarchical ladder, a true leader inspires and empowers individuals to recognize the significance of placing that ladder in the right position — aligning actions with purpose and vision.
