Authoritarianism is illegitimate under our Constitution and democratic system of government. The attempt to institute authoritarianism in the United States is an outright war against our democracy.

It is treason.

The little orange authoritarian’s administration has had many, many, many opportunities to clarify that they respect the Constitution and our three equal branches of the federal government. They have not.

They have had many opportunities to denounce that murderous autocrat from a hostile country that carried out attacks against our country before and during the general election. They have not.

They had many opportunities to denounce racists, sexists, xenophobic and Islamophobic opportunists and sociopaths during the election campaign. They did not.

This is not politics. This is not a debate about where you fall on the conservative to progressive spectrum. It is war against our democracy, the institutions of our civic life, our public welfare, the environment, and our private lives.

This is not a joke. This is not a drill. This is not confusing. This is not novel.

You have to be painfully ignorant of any notable thing that’s happened in the past 100 years to have any doubt about what is happening right in front of our faces every day.

The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. Act!

Protest and resist our little authoritarian by defending our democratic institutions. Learn about the courts. Talk to your representative. Talk to your fellow citizens. Help people vote. Denounce authoritarian speech and activities. Learn about the past 100 years of world history.

Authoritarianism is illegitimate under the United States Constitution. The attempt to install authoritarianism is not politics, it’s treason.
