A Nice Lady Dismisses Climate Crisis

Let’s just pretend that we don’t see
The greatest threat to humanity
Let’s ask Ms. Barrett and she’ll explain
“It’s a debate,” No need to constrain

Easy to dismiss the glaring
Fire into each of us is staring

This sweet, motherly, saintly lady
with shadowed brain, and heart that’s shady
Sixth Extinction does the rest
No insects, birds, no Sacred Blessed

Easy to dismiss the glaring
Fire into each of us is staring

But all aflame, haunted with hunger
Dropping, dying, uncounted number
Wash away all color, fade diversity
Pro life never to meet biology

Because somehow, they’re adversarial
Under fat ash our heavy burials
Not all our tribe to die, we’re adaptable
All else gone, except maybe, capital?
