I think it’s ludicrous
How we cease to think
Staring, nary a blink
At blinking screens
Gleaming light at night that fights
Off sleep and stakes off sanity
Proclivity to mindlessly
Scroll an infinite wheel that takes a toll
On us.

And is it just to just exist
Not be alive and thrive
Not merely check off items off life’s list?
Why do we succumb to those encumbering tendrils
Whose tender, lethal hold on us
Exerts control on us
It takes a toll on us
Because it thinks for us
Imbuing old and stale ideas
Digested into fresh, new pixels
So we don’t have to chew
Solely imbibe that seemingly new
Addicting poison

If you can’t beat em, join em,
Right?
No.
It’s up to you to spear the fight.
