An ode to the doctors and other healthcare professionals— not just for the sake of Covid-19 pandemic times

This is not just an Ode. This is way of thanks. Like beating vessels and clapping from balconies. Like staying back at home so that the virus doesn’t spread.

Calm cool composed constant
and brilliant in the face of danger,
in the face of pain and anxiety of death,
keeping that straight head held high,
always keeping that bright radiant smile
over the numerous onerous calculations
of permutations and combinations going
on behind always — like an unstoppable
ball in Newton’s imaginary forceless world,
in their minds unceasingly calculating
the probability of life and death.

They don’t wear white coats just for looks.
Over a hard stiff outshine of tough visages,
their hearts are in fact as white as a white
little lily petal shimmering glowingly
under the effect of a glorious full moon
light — like the pearl sparkling lonely on a
golden shore in some far-far away land.
