A Tragedy

On an early morning walk
into the hills
I startle jumpy bunnies
who scatter and dart into the thicket
avoiding me
like the plague

On an early morning walk
into the hills
a heavy breathing
maskless hiker
sends me into the thicket

I think I heard him sneeze

Better settle down.
Gonna be here for a while.

Mommy, can I get a bunny?
