BADASSWOMEVOTING-HuffPostfacebook

I stood before my choices,
alone in my beliefs.
As if the world depended on me.
In my mind, the angry voices.

Its my right they say.
Don’t choose that one,
or we will hate you.
How I dreaded this day.

I check the little box.
One by one I choose.
Knowing talk is cheap,
the canvasser knocks.

I pull the sweaty lever.
I cannot change my mind.
my choices locked and loaded.
One vote that lasts forever.
