Embodied

A poem about inequality

Can you imagine
The embodiment of Trump
Embodied
In a person of color
Surviving
The election process
Inciting
Division, hate, violence,
Causing
Alienation, chaos, angst, fear
Death
Being allowed
To retain their office,
To run for reelection?

My mind’s eye can’t imagine.
My eyes witnessed,

2014
Summertime
President Obama
Wears a tan suit —
Practically a lynching.

This is
The embodiment
Of inequality.

Think on that!
