Globe-trotting tyrant
Trampling fruitful foundations
And blossoming communes
Under the worn boot of civilization
The charade of charity
The mantra of modernity

Charity in the form of
Conversion therapy
Forcing straight the curves
The zigzags
The bowed and bent
that were never meant to live in the
Perpendicular, far right angles
That the trotters cherish

Their mantra echoing
Eden’s roll call
Assigning new names
Inducing identities
Constructing the constructs
that relegate society because
Who are we but contingent on the conquered
Who are we but what we are not?

Globe trotting tyrant,
Was your quest provoked
by questions of your being?
Is your crusade a means to gratify
the empire within you?

Was the discovery of
Life
in which you were not the center
Existence
in which you were not the creator
Humanity
that did not follow your framework
A trauma from which you have,
We have,
Yet to heal?
