A phrase that must be in rotation around the globe is — “God damn America!”

God damn America

with a whirl of hostility.

God damn America

with its worldwide brutality.

From littered lakes to murky seas

for its total toxicities.

For consumerism that eats the planet alive

for how it lets its citizens starve and die.

Look what you’ve done to the Courts

see what your president supports.

Let ruin run with righteous rage

with mad people free from a cage.

With blind patriotism a pathetic mess

where democracy deceives us at best.

For its disenfranchisement

with our hope in confinement.

Where lawlessness rules the day

with a mutiny, anyway.

Its “exceptionalism” no exemption

because we’ve lost all our conviction.

Because we’re about to burst
